The Third Weekend Update

I was back to my normal three days (+ weekend update) of blogging this week. I don't know how people post five or more days a week on a regular basis; it's a lot of work.

On Monday, I strayed from humor and reminisced about Hong Kong, sharing 10 Kid-Friendly Things To Do In Hong Kong.

I shared this cute (short) video on my Facebook page.

video
The name tags on my kid's backs
are only there so I remember their names.

I was also notified by SkinnyScoop that I was voted as one of the Top 25 Humor Blogs. A mere six votes from the entire world population that could vote once/day for two weeks got me into that spot. I'm pretty proud.

And when it rains, it pours; I got the permanent link to my radio interview with The Sociable Homeschooler: http://bit.ly/VbwZ4a My portion of the interview is about 15 minutes in - it's mostly about adoption, not homeschooling.
Man, I am so sick of hearing Kate talk about her stinking radio interview, would somebody shut her up. She needs to get over herself, mmhmm.

And I failed to mention that I received the Inspiring Blog Chain letter Award from new blogger, Mackenzie over at Raising Wild Things. She's very funny, so check her out. I was laughing out loud at her Facebook updates.

Tuesday, I clipped my toenails.

Wednesday was the weekly Caption That! photo.  I'm running low on photos (again), so if you want to donate your photo, I'll take it! Email it to me at canigetanotherbottleofwhine (at) yahoo (dot) com.  Why do people do that (at) and (dot) thing? Is that to keep spammers out? I'm just copying what I see others do - I probably look stupid.

Wednesday evening, I had a date with a grande, decaf, non-fat, no-whip Mocha at Barnes & Noble, mostly to do my writing, but found myself tweeting more than writing. I need to stop that tweeting crap...never.

While at B&N I almost went into a panic...

Thursday was bonbon-eating day again.

Friday, I shared a recipe for Tortilla Soup, after accidentally deleting my entire post 38 minutes prior to Finish The Sentence Friday going live. I wasn't frustrated at all.

And then I happened upon this on Friday...

Up next week...

Monday: 10 Favorite Smells (you know that'll be fun)
Tuesday: One year since we adopted our beautiful daughter (I'll give a one-year update)
Wednesday: Caption That! (still have no clue what picture I'm using)
Thursday: Probably nuthin'
Friday: Finish The Sentence Friday - "I did something really stupid once, I..." (that will make for some awesome reads in the link-up)

In a few weeks I'll be doing a giveaway (my second one ever). It's for a kid's bathing suit. Just got our sample from SwimZip in the mail for Autumn to try out. It's super cute!

Thanks for reading my crap! I appreciate it.

Wahoo! Congrats on the Skinnycoop humor rating. Those mere six voters definitely know their funny - you always crack me up! You are getting so very organized, reviewing this week and a look-ahead! I'm very impressed. I can't believe I forgot it was FTSF last night. This no blogging malarkey is starting to do strange things to me. I didn't even put a status update on FB today..

  2. We might be related. I have a Chapstick in every coat pocket. Major panic if I'm ever without it. And tortilla soup is my #1 go-to recipe. I also cut my nails this week! Congrats on the ranking!

  3. Wow, that's cool. Tortilla soup is so one-pot easy. Love it! I CANNOT go anywhere without my Chapstick. I'll go to 7-11 and pick some up if I have to - even for just two hours away from home.

  4. I was thinking - I haven't heard anything from Josie's part of the www-o-sphere today. Hope you're catching up on a bunch of stuff while not blogging.

  5. Um, I don't mean to brag or anything, but I got nine votes on SkinnyScoop. Yeah, you read right. Nine votes. I'm kind of a big deal. Granted, six of them were from people I know, and the other three were probably drunk people looking for another website. Oh well, I'm chalking it up to a win! Congrats to you as well.

I wonder when we'll get our prizes and what they will be. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'm thinking a 52 inch flat screen would be a reasonable prize for making it in the top 25, especially with nine votes. Come on, NINE! I'm practically shutting down their servers with all that traffic! :-)

  9. Congrats on being a top 25 humor blog. Much deserved.

And yeah, the (at) and (dot) is to keep away the robots. Although, I'm sure they'll get smart and start stealing our email addresses despite that cleverness any day now. Either that or they'll skip the emails and go straight for our souls. Darn robots.

  10. I don't see how people post every day either! I'm feeling really accomplished if I crank out 3 in a week.

I've accidentally deleted a post before...and I actually ALMOST did it the same day you say it happened to you! Kind of made me want to back over my computer with the car, ya know?

I hate the spammers. They are taking over my comment section. Grrrrrr.

I don't know what has taken me so long to follow you, but I feel remiss because I'm loving you (but not on a creepy way). You've become one of my "must reads". :)

Tee hee to "mom's not your slave." And I'm SO glad that you clipped your toenails on Tuesday. They were probably overdue. Nasty. ;)
And you know...I used to post every day - 7 days a week. I have no idea how I did it now. Some weeks, I feel like it's a miracle to post three times. You rock.

Next week, get your priorities straight, Kate.

    Bon-bon eating *before* toe-nail clipping.

    Carry on.
