Today was my birthday.
Found an old woman in a party hat stumbling around my bathroom this morning. WTH? Then I looked closer and saw it was just me turning 42.

I can't believe it. I'm freaking 42.
Aside from that horrid truth, it was a great day!
We started out by going to breakfast at our favorite breakfast place. Things went really well; the kids were obedient and cooperated - nothing like the last time we went out to breakfast. Then we went to church. After the service, they celebrated my birthday with hot dogs and chips. Just kidding, they were celebrating something else - I'm not sure what - but I pretended it was for my birthday. I ate a hot dog and took my Cheetos home.
Steve asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I basically said to be alone. So I went shopping at Goodwill for over two hours. It was crowded; the stars aligned so that the 15th (the monthly scratch-off coupon day) coincided with the weekly 50 percent off colored tag day and the fact that it was a weekend. I got to add on my 25 percent off birthday coupon and five percent preferred customer card discount, for a total of 50 percent off my total purchase. I am the crap, yo!
When I left Goodwill I had a thick layer of other people all over my hands, so I had to sanitize them. I went to Starbucks and did just that - literally. Like, I dipped my hands in boiling water and then they fell off. I'm typing with nubs right now.
I left the bathroom with my stumps and I got my free venti coffee. I made sure I was getting my free birthday drink before I ordered because otherwise I would have just ordered a tall. But since they covered it, I got the biggest size with three extra shots of a bunch of stuff. It tasted like crap, but I maxed out my free drink.

Then I drove over to Barnes & Noble because that's where I go to
I mean that I read, retweeted and starred a lot of jokes. And tweeted a few of my own.
Texted my husband: I'm still at Starbucks tweeting. Him: I figured as much. I had to mute the iPad.

Apparently, the Twitter notifications were too much for him.
Barnes & Noble closes at 8pm on Sunday nights, so I had to leave early. I'd only been gone from home for seven and half hours. I stopped at Trader Joe's on my way home to pick up some food for this week. I told them it was my birthday and they gave me a free bouquet of flowers. How sweet is that?
It's the least they can do considering Steve's paychecks go to them every week.
Then I came home and ate apple pie al a mode for dinner. It was a homemade pie I made on Friday. I hate to brag, but that crust was flakin' fantastic! That's baker smack talk for "it was awesome!"
Anyway, aside from losing my hands it was a great birthday. I'm off to watch Breaking Bad until I fall asleep. Good night!

Holy Crap, I'm freaking old!
